Karma nightclub is located at the Prince of Wales hotel and the Prince Bar. It’s across the street from Athlone’s other nightclub ‘Viva’.
When you book a hen package with the Prince of Wales hotel the hen party gets free entry and access to a reserved area. There is also access to the ‘VIP’ area with some of their packages.
Club Viva is one of Athlone’s two nightclubs. Its located only a few yards from the other club – Karma – and the Prince of Wales Hotel. Club Viva, and the Piano bar are part of the same complex.
Have a look at Viva’s website to see the latest offers. They have a ‘VIP’ area and regular offers of free entry, 2 for 1 drinks etc. It’s free entry when you are drinking upstairs in the Piano Bar before the nightclub.
The Arch House is Athlone’s best known B&B/Guesthouse. It is centrally located, next to Dunnes Stores and a short walk from the main restaurant and bar area.
For Hen and Stag partys, they offer special packages to include accomodation, activities and entry to Karma night club. To cater for large groups, they have their own self catering apartments located only a few yards down the street. When staying at the apartments you can go fully self catering or you have the options to avail of breakfast at the main guesthouse.

Nearest pub to Apartments: Richard Graces, walk out of apartments and go left, go past Supermacs and its on the left. (there is one a bit closer but not recommended for hen partys!)
Places to eat nearby:
There are plenty of places to eat nearby, for a full on meal you are probably best to go up to the town centre where most of the restaurants are located. But if you are looking for some lunch or breakfast there are some nice places nearby.
The Sheraton is only around the corner, with the La Prevence restaurant.
The new Town centre is only around the corner also, with plenty of cafes
O’Brien’s Sandwich bar is straight down the road towards the Golden Island shopping centre, the shopping centre itself has everything you need including cafes.
Richard Graces – pub food
The Charcoal Grill – A lot less formal than a restaurant, more of a cafe, but nice food and good for large groups. They do a great deal for a 3 course meal and you can bring your own wine.
Supermacs is across the road.
King Kebab takeaway is directly across from the self catering apartments and they do a mean Kebab and Indian food!!
For coffee, take a right turn after Supermacs and you will get to Coffee Haven, which is beside O’Briens off-licence, and is great for breakfast/lunch and coffee.
The Creggan Court Hotel is a good budget alternative to the centrally located hotels. Its situated on the outskirts of the town in a very busy road services area which includes a Centra, McDonalds, Dominos Pizza, Subway. So if you’re looking for a snack while staying here you dont have far to go! There is also a Woodies on the site, so you can do any last minute hen paraphenalia shopping at their Partyzone.

The Prince of Wales hotel is centrally located, and is home to the popular Prince bar which is a large pub with regular live music. The hotel also is home to Karma, one of the nightclubs in the town.

Although the hotel, pub and nightclub are all part of the same building, everybody going to the nightclub have to go outside and queue with other nightclub goers!
The Prince of Wales offer Hen Party packages so you dont have to spend any time planning the weekend. The packages include accomodation, dinner, entry and reserved areas in Karma nightclub and a variety of different activities including cocktail making, make-overs, watersports, paintballing, pamper packages, and you even have the chance to ‘paint a nude’!!
The Shamrock Lodge Hotel is situated just outside the centre of the town, on the west side of the Shannon River. As well as hotel accomodation the hotel provides 2 bedroom apartments
The Athlone Springs Hotel is situated on the outskirts of the town, in a residential/industrial area. Although the location means a taxi is required to get into the town centre, it is a stylish and spacious hotel with excellent leisure facilities, which include a swimming pool, gym, sauna, a spa bath, and a steam room. The hotel also offers massages, facials and body treatments.
The Sheraton hotel is Athlone’s newest hotel. It is located beside Athlone’s town centre and you can walk straight into the town centre from the hotel (via a lift and the Harvest Cafe – which is a part of the Sheraton). The facilities at the hotel include a bar, restaurant, a gym (with 24hour access for guests!), swimming pool. The hotel has a 12 story tower and some of the rooms in the tower have great views of Athlone town, helped by the floor to ceiling windows.

Car Parking: Yes. Private underground car park, part of the Athlone Town Centre complex. Free parking for hotel guests, just remember to ask the receptionist to validate your ticket when leaving.
According to the hotels’s website, the bus and train station is a 5 minute walk, and this is true!
The Radisson Blu hotel enjoys a prime location overlooking the Shannon and Athlone’s marina. The facilities at the hotel include a bar, a deck overlooking the river, a gym, swimming pool, a restaurant.
The hotel is located very close to most of the restaurants and bars and its a short walk across the bridge to more restaurants and attractions such as Athlone Castle and Luan Art Gallery.

According to the hotels’s website, the bus and train station is within walking distance – 500m. Its walkable once your luggage is not too heavy and you’re wearing suitable footwear!
Car Parking: Yes. Private car park, barriers on entry and exit. As a guest you can get your car parking ticket stamped before leaving so you don’t pay anything. The car park can be quite busy whenever there is an event such as a wedding.
